The members of the Orchard Farm Fire Protection District have formed an association and established a fund to maintain membership and participation. This will be done by supporting department activities and obtaining items that would normally fall outside the district’s normal operating budget.
The Volunteer Association Fund has been setup to be independent and separate from the district’s tax based accounts, and is fully controlled by the volunteers, who propose and vote on expenditures, as well as raise money to support the fund.
Association funds could be spent on anything from recreational equipment for the station, to training props or specialty tools. With the district being 100% volunteer, having items to keep people interested in spending time at the firehouse is critical. When our volunteers are manning the station and a call goes out, help gets to those who need it much more quickly.
